YPI Yellow Pages today announced that its board of directors has named Rick Macy to serve as the company's chief executive officer. Macy, 41, has served since May 2006 as chief operations officer of YPI Yellow Pages, and previously spent his 20 year career in a range of general management, operations and sales and marketing positions. Prior to his joining YPI Yellow Pages, Mr Macy worked for Harris Corporation responsible for Latin American Sales. Mr Macy has extensive telecoms experience, he was the commercial director of Comstar Telecommunications in Moscow and earlier of PeterStar Telecommunications in St. Petersburg. Antony Czura, YPI Yellow Pages chairman and former CEO, said that the YPI Yellow Pages board unanimously selected Macy based on his track record leading a sales based organizations, as well as his strong executive and personal qualities. Mr. Czura remains in the role of chairman overseeing the company’s strategic development. ''Rick came to our attention because of his strong execution skills, his proven ability to lead top performing teams and his track record in driving shareholder value. As we got to know Rick, we were impressed by his emphasis on developing internal talent while reaching outside for new skills, his understanding of the role of culture in a company's success, and his personal integrity,'' continued Czura.
